Carilafquén and Malalcahuello

They are the first hydroelectric projects developed entirely by LAP in Chile. Its construction started the first half of 2014 and they are under operation since february 2016. It is located in the IX Araucanía Region, in the area of Caren Bajo, near Melipeuco.

They are the first hydroelectric projects developed entirely by LAP in Chile. Its construction started the first half of 2014 and they are operating since february 2016. It is located in the IX Araucanía Region, in the area of Caren Bajo, near Melipeuco. The construction of these two plants was awarded to Icafal. Will have a total capacity of 29.0 MW (19.8 MW Carilafquén and 9.2 Central Malalcahuello). Both stations share a single powerhouse that is composed of 4 Pelton turbines, as supplied by Andritz (2 for Carilafquén and 2 for Malalcahuello). The interconnection system will be through a transmission line of 121.6 km, connecting the SIC through the substation lift Rio Toltén.
